The sacraments of the living are five of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church which are classified as such because their chief purpose is to give more grace to the souls already spiritually alive through sanctifying grace.

The Sacraments
Holy Eucharist
The Holy Eucharist brings the fulness of spiritual life through the grace of Christ. This is the central sacrament from which or to which all other sacraments flow.
Confirmation
Confirmation seals the graces of Baptism, thus filling the recipient with full gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit.
Anointing of the Sick
Anointing of the Sick gives the recipient the grace needed to overcome illness and return to a fulfilling Christian life.
Holy Orders
The Holy Orders gives the graces necessary to lead the lay peoples of the Church and fully live out the vocation of priesthood.
Matrimony
Matrimony gives two people the grace needed to live together in harmony and raise Christian children.
Not Included
Baptism
Baptism is not included because it is the sacrament believed to first bring spiritual life.
Reconciliation
Reconciliation is not included because it restores spiritual life to those who have died spiritually through sin.
