Rev-Ola Records | remastered reissue

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Rev-Ola Records is a record label specialising in reissues. It was originally a subsidiary of the Creation Records publishing arm, Creation Songs, in which guise it also featured spoken word recordings by William Shatner and Ivor Cutler, as well as first time reissues by favourite artists among the Creation Records inner circle, artists such as Fred Neil and Yma Sumac. The label was headed from the start by Joe Foster. co-founder of Creation Records. It continues to release reissues of recordings from the 1950s, through the 1990s, as well as a range of new recordings, many by Creation Records associated artists. The label is internationally acclaimed for it’s innovative approach to reissues. Other executives at the label include art director and songwriter Andy Morten, mastering engineer Norman Blake (of Teenage Fanclub) and graphic artist and reissue producer Steve Stanley.

Yuletide Records | Christmas

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Yuletide Records was a daughter record label of Modern Records, specialized only in Christmas music. Apparently only 9 records were made, somewhere during the late sixties. Their slogan was “Great Sounds of Christmas” but was unsuccessful at producing these sounds. The music and album covers were cheesy at best, and overwhelmingly generic.

Discography

  • Famous Christmas Carols - Johnny Cole & Robert Evans Chorus
  • O Come All Ye Faithful - Robert Evans Choir with Organ & Chimes
  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Other Christmas Favorites - Johnny Cole & Robert Evans Chorus & Orchestra
  • Christmas Favorites - Fred Kirby’s Pipe Organ & Chimes
  • White Christmas - Gordon Jenkins & Christmas Strings
  • 12 Days of Christmas - Johnny Cole & Robert Evans Chorus
  • Silent Night: Organ and Chimes Favorites - William Daly
  • Joy to the World - Juan Ditmar’s Organ and Chimes
  • The Little Drummer Boy - Voices of Christmas
